Quick & Easy POMtini

by Teri on November 17, 2010 · 33 comments

I’m a water lover. Yep, one of those lucky folks that doesn’t struggle to get my 8 glasses a day. More often than not, water is my beverage of choice.  I’ve told ya I keep a Brita filter at my desk; its because I love water and I’m always thirsty. And yes, I pee all.day.long.

But lately, I haven’t wanted water with my dinner. But I don’t like juice and rarely drink a straight glass of milk. However, I have loads of POM Wonderful in my fridge.  It’s obviously too sweet on its own but watered down with a little sparkly, it’s golden scarlet.

I fill my glass almost full of club soda  and add a few splashes of POM until I  get juuuust enough sweetness.

POMtini-2

A few squeezes of fresh lime juice later, it’s positively refreshing. Not to mention, loaded with antioxidants from the POM.

POMtini-1

(I love these glasses that my bestie got me from Crate &  Barrell for my birthday.)

What do you drink with your dinner? I had a glass of milk EVERY night growing up. Thanks for my strong bones Mom! Smile

What’s your favorite lower-calorie drink? I hate “wasting” calories on drinks but sometimes water just doesn’t cut it!

P.S. If you loved Alo’s workout clothes, you’re in luck! They are offering 20% off any purchase until the end of the year with this code: bloglove2010. That makes those amazing capris only $40! That’s a steal for such great quality.

Unless I eat spicy food, I typically don’t drink while I eat! Weird? I am a huge water person as well…and pee ALL OF THEE TIME! xo

Now that you say that, I realized I don’t actually drink with my meal either. I drink it AFTER I eat. funny!

I drink so much water myself! I pee all.day.long. It’s annoying! My bf doesn’t let me drink for like hours before we go on long car trips!!!! Your drink looks fantastic. My bev of choice is seltzer water! I hate wasting cals on liquids, too!!

I like to drink that too but for some reason, seltzer makes me extremely gassy!

I’m a fan of Vitamin Water Zero.

I really hate wasting calories on drinks too! I usually go for diet dr. pepper with lots of ice or seltzer water with lemon. My big problem with seltzer water was that I would buy the 1L bottles but they always went flat. Recently I discovered they sell it by the can! That way I can always have bubbly seltzer and never have to waste half of a flat bottle!

I love VitaWater. The Lemonade flavor is definitely my favorite. It’s weird because whenever I workout I can’t drink plain water or else I throw up. I usually go with powerade or vita water.

And that is so weird about water when working out. haha!

Your Pomtini is beautiful!! I’m a water drinker too and don’t have trouble getting plenty of it… along with plenty of trips to the bathroom.

I just drink water or some sort of tea with my dinner everynight. This week I’ve been drinking Dandelion Root tea after dinner to help flush out excess water weight from my show this weekend. We’ll see if it makes a difference in whether my abs show or not HA!

My favorite low-calorie drink is Diet Coke. Boring, I know HAHA!

I’m like you: I’m happy drinking water all day long. I think I must drink 15 glasses during the day at work. With meals I like iced tea, though.

I’m not a big fan of POM…the flavor is too much for me. But the only way I’ll drink it is mixed with seltzer. It’s much more mild and I love the fizz.

I totally agree about not wanting to “waste” calories on drinks! This is such a good idea.

I love all the crystal light varieties. Yumm! So good.

I drink tons of water too – so much that my doctor told me to cut back so I don’t have to pee so much!
I do regular water, but also supplement with LaCroix sparkling for some extra zing. Try those!
And growing up it was always milk with dinner, but now I get most of my calcium through yogurt and other foods

I’m a major water lover, too. I can’t imagine drinking anything else with dinner! But back when I had a fridge full of POM juice, I drank it with sparkling water every day when I got home from school – it was the perfect refreshing drink in the afternoon!

I almost always just have water with dinner…well, unless I’m drinking wine. :) I don’t like super sugary drinks and agree that POM makes a yummy option when mixed with water or soda. I tried some Sokenbicha tea recently – super low calorie and rather refreshing. But with half marathon training in the works, I’m drinking a whole lot of water.

I used to drink milk all the time when growing up! (I’m glad my parents had us kids drink so much milk because I know a lot of kids–especially girls–don’t get enough milk and calcium!) But not I usually only have it on my cereal or after eating spicy food! I usually have water with every meal.

I’m a huge water chugger too and that’s what I’ll usually have with dinner too. If i’m switching it up it’ll be wine or a sparkling water with citrus juice.
