I loved hearing all of your favorite at-work snacks, and especially hearing how many of you like prunes! Seriously, I was shocked how many of you do because I’ve never met anyone else who thinks that’s normal! We health bloggers stick together.
When I’m a home, my favorite snacks differ a little. They typically involve the stove and/or the refrigerator.
Kale Chips
I’m obsessed with kale chips. I like them plain with just olive oil, salt and pepper. I like them with nutritional yeast added to the mix. I really like them covered in Ashley’s cashew cream sauce before baking – it gives them a yummy crisp coating. I don’t think you can go wrong with kale chips, any way, any style.
Stove-top Popcorn
I much prefer stove-top popcorn over microwave. For every bag of microwave popcorn I eat, I eat 20 batches of stovetop. Yep, a bit of a snob. Or, I’m very sentimental given that my grandpa always made it for me. And I’m very particular about the kernels that I buy. It has to be white kernels, not yellow. The white kernels are harder to find for some reason…but they produce way better popcorn. It’s crispier. You can read here how I pop it on the stove.
Hummus & Nut Thins
I love hummus and I love these types of crackers. They are soooo crispy. My favorites are the hazelnut, almond and pecan ones. And my hummus is just the Whole Foods kind. I alternate among their regular, black bean and cilantro jalepeno hummus. They’re all good.
Crackers, Cheese and Olives
I love cheese and water crackers. And adding olives makes it feel special. And hummus (again) makes it feel like a legit restaurant appetizer. And of course, if I’m having all of that, I might as well add red wine to the mix, right?
OK, your turn. What are your favorite at-home snacks? Do they different from your at-work snacks?

My grandmother always had to have her bran and prunes, and whenever we visited her, I always wanted to try one of her prunes. To this day, whenever I eat prunes it always reminds me of my Grandma! I don’t buy them too often, though I do like them. It’s just not something I tend to eat. At work I seem to have to have packaged snacks, b/c of time allowance. At home, I may have a bowl of cereal or I may put something together, b/c I have more time.

I definitely think kernels and a little oil in a paper bag is a GREAT option!
Hmm…I guess my go-to snacks at home are yogurt with various toppings and bowls of cereal with so much other stuff added in that few would consider it cereal anymore.
Definitely different than my at-school snacks of nuts, dried fruit, apples, and homemade granola bars!

I love stove top popcorn 100x more too. Great snack for sure
My snacks aren’t too different at home, but I have more shakes since I can make them at home versus work.

OMG, your bakery is the best source of snacks. seriously, all the goodies I just got are almost gone. Ridiculously good!! And I can feel good about eating them!
Kale chips are amazing! My favorite way to bake them is tossed with a little olive oil, chili powder (possibly even a bit of cayenne, too, for some kick), and sprinkled with lime juice… Zesty and flavorful!
omg, i HAVE to try that combo!! Do you put the lime juice on before or after baking?
After, but I don’t think I have tried it with the juice sprinkled pre-baking… It’s a tasty pairing, though.
LOVE stove top popcorn!!! It’s the only kind I’ll eat
I love Greek yogurt, string cheese, hummus & veggies, or egg whites topped with salsa. I’m also a popcorn junkie with a good topping of nooch
ooh, I have had nooch on popcorn for a long time! thanks for the reminder!
