Hi guys! Happy Sunday! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine started off with a lovely evening in downtown Winston Salem. It was a perfect fall night with tons of people out for the opera. The leaves were blowing off the trees, the streets were busy and it just was one of those nights that I thought, “man, I love where I live.”
A friend and I went to Hutch & Harris and sat outside to enjoy the fall ambience.

Their menu was brand new and some of my favorites were no longer on the menu. They didn’t have nearly as many options and nothing was gluten-free or dairy-free friendly. I requested some tweaks to my dish and while the food was fine, it was just really disappointing. Baked salmon on white rice, basically. I know it’s hard to judge a dish when I have to make tweaks but I feel like a good chef can still turn out something great even if they have to adjust on the fly (the chefs at The Spring House are great at this from what I’ve seen!) My friend’s dish was also disappointing. Bummer Hutch & Harris. Bring back the old goodies!

Luckily, Camino Bakery never disappoints so we headed there for dessert. Goat cheese cheesecake!

Yesterday I met up with Emily ([rom Emily Eats Clean...but she no longer blogs
]and her husband in Boone, NC but more on those weekend happenings later if I want to get The Weekender posted while it’s still the weekend. Enjoy!
The Weekender
I loved the two mantras Janetha shared.

Are you living an empowered life?
Are you following these diet & nutrition experts on Twitter? It was fun to see Katy on the list!
I don’t follow a paleo diet but I’m really intrigued by it. I enjoyed this article about the “paleo diet” vs “paleo template.”
Training for a marathon? Read these tips.
How does your spending compare to the average American woman?
I’m obsessed with the latest dress that Five Bamboo sent me, the Sophia! It fits perfectly and it’s just a little sassy but still work appropriate. I also plan to wear it to multiple holiday parties! (psssst! Stay tuned for some reader goodies from Five Bamboo soon!)

The Week in Fitness

There are two posts you guys have asked for for a long time so I’ll let you vote on which comes first: how I budget or how I increased my running speed.

Very cute outfit!
Thanks for the Paleo article link–I’m curious about learning more as well.
Running Speed please! Super curious about that one!
I vote for the budget article.
As for evenings downtown, my husband and I really just need to start budgeting for a sitter. Even though that makes for a really pricey date night, our marriage is worth it
I hate when a good menu goes bad. There are a few places around me that have made drastic menu changes and not for the good. It’s so depressing. At least you got to enjoy the beautiful fall ambience.
Running speed! I had a pretty wretched lobster roll from H+H. Too small, too light on lobster, too low on flavor. My husband got something he was very meh about. This had to be 2 or so years ago. We haven’t been back.
Great dress! Love the colors. I vote for the budget post.
Love your dress Teri! And LOVE your hair the way it is right now! Will you PLEASE make time to come visit me when you come home next? I feel like I keep missing you & I would LOVE to catch up & chat! Also, I thought of a topic for you to write on…mostly I want your opinion
you should write about how to turn ordinary outfits & pieces extraordinary for holiday parties or events
Love you girl! Oh and I vote for a budget post!
I keep hoping for a budget post every time I see a new post from you! I was actually going to email you and request it before you said something about it coming soon a few weeks ago. I could definitely use some help in this area right now! I look forward to both, though
Running speed! I am SUCH a slow runner, and long runs take up so much of my time I find myself skipping them. I’ve run several half marathons, so I’m doing well on distance but my fastest hald is just under 2:30
I vote budget – I’m always super curious how other people manage their $$. And that dress is adorable – super cute
You just have the cutest hair!
Super cute dress!
Running speed please! I need to start prepping for Cherry Blossom and I just feel like if I run faster I’ll get it over with quicker
I’m a finance person so I always enjoy hearing other peoples budget strategies!
you look adorable as always!
would love to hear your tips on budgeting! I am horrible at it
How I budget!
And thanks for the link love. I enjoy the weekender and finding great stories and articles to read through your blog.
And as always, I love your style of clothing.
My vote is for budget! Thank you for all of the great links! Also, do you have any suggestions of websites for paleo recipes?
Paleomg.com has great recipes!
Running speed, please!
budget!
Thanks for the link love and HEY! I just bought a Clarsonic! It’s charging right now! I would like both topics from you. I can’t pick!
