Push-up Challenge
One of my goals for 2010 is to increase the number of push-ups I can do (from my toes). I originally was aiming towards 50 consecutive push-ups, but then I found a plan online that trains you to do ONE HUNDRED consecutive push-ups. So, I thought, eh, why not? Join the challenge or just follow my progress and cheer me on! Leave a comment and let me know if you’d like to be added to the list of challengers. (You know you want to.) You don’t have to do it exactly like me – go from your toes, aim for 50, aim for 5 – whatever pushes you.

Excellent. I added you. Keep me posted on your progress.
I started the push-up challenge today. I think that you must have made a mistake because I don’t see Rob’s name anywhere on the list of participants.
No mistake. You should mock him into joining.
I am in! I just mentioned this to my fiance, who already does his push-ups regularly, and he said he’d do them with me! I’m behind, but knowing you guys have already accomplished what I am worked towards will be motivating! Here we go!
Oh and I added a couple spinning playlists, with more to come!

Yay! I’m glad you’re in! Keep me posted.
And thanks for the playlists!! I’m putting up a couple today. Seriously, it’s so helpful to share playlists!

You’re in! And thanks!
I am in, used to be able to do 80 consecutive during my competitive jump rope days. Would like to be able to do that again plus even more!
80?? wow! And competitive jump roping?? that’s so cool! I’ll add you to the list. good luck!
Ha, yeah 80 – back in the days of my 12 year old life. I did the initial test today – 18, I was like need to start kicking it! Yes, competitive JR – amazing stuff! Thanks!
Just found your blog and I love it!!
Oh and I found this pushup website the other day and my boy and I were just talking about trying to do it last night!!
I’m so glad you like it!
Let me know if you decide to do the push-ups.
Hi, is it too late to join in? I will do 100 by the end of 2010!
I can do about 10 on a good day right now, so I think I have a long ways to go yet..
It’s never too late! People are joining all the time. I’ll add you to the list. good luck!
Add me! I’m posting about it later, but I’M IN!!!!

I love your blog! I actually started doing it because of Rachel. So add me too!
Thanks!
I added you.
And I LOVE your blog too! i’m so glad you commented so I could discover it. I’m so jealous you live in NYC. My hubby and I would love to end up there after he graduates, so hopefully he can find a law job there.
I bet it’s so fun to have access to so many different workouts and gyms!
Hey there! Just stumbled upon your blog. Love this challenge…I’m so on it : ) I’m obsessed with push up right now for some reason
awesome! I just added you to the list! Keep me posted on your progress!
This is so perfect! I want to do lots of rock climbing this summer and was just thinking about how push ups would really help my body get ready. Just found your blog by the way and love it
oh man, rock climbing is tough!! Such a great workout and yes, i bet push-ups would help!
And thanks! I’m glad you like my blog.
I’m already doing p90x which has a lot of push ups but i’m still at the weenie arm stage. Count me in! I want toasted arms by summer!
I am in! I started last week and did fine the first day then collapsed on the floor after one pushup on day 2
Bring it on pushups, I will show you who’s boss!
How have i missed your blog for this long? I LOVE this idea and i think it is great you are completely rocking this challenge. Push-ups are no doubt one of my all time favorite workouts for your entire upper body! They are so versatile and i think it is excellent that you have an entire page dedicated solely to them! I can’t wait to keep reading your blog and see what hairstyle you come up with next! For the record, i’m a fan of the faux-hawk
haha! Thanks Adam/Deane.
I think you’re the only one who likes the faux-hawk.
I got my butt beat while doing Pilates push-ups on Saturday. Sign me up for this bad boy!
How’s the challenge going? I started this challenge a few months ago when I could do about 50 pushups, and I only lasted about a week. I could only do a few more than when I started, but my form was a lot better. For whatever that’s worth.
Then I gave it up because it was sheer torture: “On your fifth set, pushups to failure.” Good luck!
Oh, this is cool. One of my goals is to be able to do 100 at a time, too! I’m up to doing a set of 55, then 35, then 10. But not the whole thing . . . yet! Will have to check out this plan
What happens after 50? Did you give up? Not that I’m close to 50 consecutive but I have the push-up splits with my running schedule for the next 12 weeks.
I just found your blog today and since I am a high school PE teacher in Olympia, Washington, I am going to do the push up challenge with my PE classes!! I like the way that your workout are set up and progress from easy to difficult. Good job with this!
Thanks,
